Supporting our Mission
The Harvard Medical School - Partners
Healthcare Center for Genetics and Genomics is helping to write
the next chapter in the history of medicine.
Our distinguishing features - extraordinary intellectual assets,
solid infrastructure and a wide programmatic scope -set us apart
from other genetics centers and offer the greatest potential for
realizing gene-based medicine. The nearly 2 million patients treated
annually in the Partners HealthCare System, led by its flagship
institutions, Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's
Hospital, offer an unparalleled patient population to benefit from
the Center's clinical activities.
For those who suffer from cancer, heart
disease, neurological diseases and myriad other serious illnesses,
HPCGG will offer new opportunities for finely-tuned diagnoses and
more effective, targeted therapies with fewer side effects. At the
same time, the possibilities for pioneering breakthroughs in our
understanding of the origin and progression of common diseases and
in developing new means of prevention for these illnesses is very
real.
The challenge ahead is daunting. Over
the next 5 years we need to raise $75 million needs from individuals,
corporations and foundation to help recruit additional faculty,
build upon the Center's infrastructure and underwrite the Center's
growing programs.
Your charitable donation will help
us to realize the full potential of our work and to stay at the
forefront of medicine. If you are interested in learning more about
