Pre-conference Information Technology & Personalized Medicine Symposium
Overview
The Special Information Technology & Personalized Medicine Symposium will be a featured event taking place on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 12 prior to the main conference, Personalized Medicine: A Value Proposition. This Symposium, expected to be an intensive discussion with a select audience of attendees, will focus on the integration of information technology and personalized medicine and the solutions that have been found to move this field forward.
Speakers have been asked to present their companies' information technology efforts relative to personalized medicine. Panels include "Incorporating Genetics into the Healthcare Enterprise," where attendees will hear from large healthcare organizations about the challenges they have faced incorporating genetic data into their institutions and what solutions they have found, "The Business Outlook for Integrating Genetics & Genomics As a Health Information Tool," where business leaders will discuss how they handle financial risk when it comes to collecting and utilizing genetic knowledge, and "Information Technology & Personalized Genomics," where direct-to-consumer and next generation sequencing companies will describe how the business models??they support can impact how traditional healthcare is delivered.
