Jonathan Seidman elected to National Academy of Sciences

Jonathan G. Seidman, Jr., Ph.D. was elected to the National Academy of Sciences on May 1st. Jon is the Henrietta B, and Frederick H. Bugher Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and a member of the Harvard-Partners Center for Genetics and Genomics. Election to membership in the Academy, which recognizes distinguished and continuing achievements in original research, is one of the highest honors in the United States that a scientist can receive. Jon’s research focuses on identifying disease-causing mutations that cause familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy and other cardiovascular disorders.
